As time passes the Earth's climate zones slowly shift from place to place, meaning that areas that have yet to experience certain weather patterns will start to experience them. This means that areas that previously had minimal risk of catastrophic weather may now be at a higher risk. This fact will have a great impact on places that are now more likely to experience weather events such as storms. These areas may not have the proper infrastructure to properly contend with the harsh conditions of a storm, for example of the thousands of houses that are already built in these newly high risk areas, very few will be built to withstand the conditions that a storm may bring such as high speed winds, flying debris, and a torrential downpour.
